Peele-Mumpower
Elizabeth Irene Peele and Kesley Josiah Mumpower exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 16, 2015, at 4 p.m. at Fort Macon National Park, with the Rev. Gregory Allen Mumpower officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John Wayne and Jackie Lynn Smith Peele of Pikeville, N.C., and the granddaughter of the late David Ernest and Sadie Elizabeth Evans Peele and the late Mahlon and Mamie Irene Tyner Smith, all of Pikeville.
She obtained a bachelors of arts degree in English, a master of arts degree in English from the University of South Carolina and a master of information science degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She is currently employed as the systems librarian at Emory University.
The groom is the son of the Rev. Gregory Allen and Deborah Lackey Mumpower and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Randall Mumpower and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lackey.
He obtained an associate in science degree from Midlands Technical College and a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of South Carolina. He is employed as an IT professional in the Atlanta area.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an Oleg Cassini strapless high-low ballgown in whisper pink with an elbow-length veil with beaded edge. She carried a bouquet of button mums, roses and delphinium.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Amos Mosquitos Restaurant in Atlantic Beach, N.C.
A wedding shower was hosted by both families March 7 at Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church.
The couple currently resides in Atlanta, Ga.
