Lori Ann Berry and Henry Dennis Braswell Jr. of Rocky Mount exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 15, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Praise Sanctuary Church in Princeton, with the Rev. Don Kivett and the Rev. Jimmy Lambert officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Louvene H. Berry of Pikeville and the late William Leslie Berry and the granddaughter of the late Rodney Harris and Ila G. Berry and the late Willie Abner and Myrtle C. Hall.

The groom is the son of Henry Dennis Sr. and Betty Braswell of Rocky Mount and the late Susan Carol Pope Braswell and the grandson of Annie Lee Braswell of Rocky Mount, the late Henry Lee Braswell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gray Pope.

The bride was escorted by her brother, William Roger Berry, and given in marriage by her mother and brothers.

She wore a tea-length lace dress with a V-neckline with an embroidered applique and short sleeves. Fabric godets at the bottom gave it a full sweep skirt. She wore a crystal and pearl headband and matching decorative hair pins. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory and pink roses.

Maxine Robbins was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Samantha Berry and Cathy Scher.

Henry Dennis Braswell Sr. served as his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Trey Braswell and Jeff Berry.

Grayson Braswell and Alyssa Berry were flower girls.

Jake Thomas was the ringbearer.

Susan P. Peacock directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Claudia Thompson. Zachary Scher distributed programs.

A program of pre-recorded wedding music was provided by John Peacock, who operated the sound system, and Kim Thompson, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Becky’s Log Cabin Restaurant in Smithfield. Guests were greeted by the Rev. Chuck Owens and his daughter, Hannah. The cake was cut and served by Emily Wood, and punch was served by Kim Thompson. Thank-you scrolls were handed out by Mikayla Scher. The couple were chauffeured to and from the reception by Shelton and Grace Sarvis in their 1964 red convertible Ford Galaxy.

After a wedding trip to undisclosed location, the couple resides in Nahunta.

Friday night the groom’s parents treated the wedding party to a rehearsal dinner at Robbins Nest Restaurant in Smithfield. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal luncheon/shower June 1 hosted by Julia Crumpler, Belle Little, Louise Phillips and Margaret Radford, aunts of the bride, at the home of Bill and Belle Little, and a bridal shower in honor of the couple June 2 at the church hosted by the Women’s Ministry of Praise Sanctuary.
