Vickie La’Nell Dixon of Wilson and Billy R. Hyman of Wilson exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 2 at noon at St. Paul Disciples of Christ in Wilson, with bishop Chester L. Aycock officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roy Lee Dixon Jr. and Linda Vinson Dixon of Dudley and the granddaughter of the late Roy Lee Dixon of Snow Hill and Rematha Cobb Dixon, the late Freddie Vinson and Adell Vinson of Goldsboro.

She is a graduate of Wayne County schools, North Carolina A&T University with a bachelor’s degree and East Carolina University with a master’s degree. She is employed as a rehab counselor at Southern Rehab Network in Raleigh.

The groom is the son of the late Clara Hyman Rand of Sharpsburg

He is a graduate of Wilson County schools. He is a former United States Navy dental technician. He is employed as a shipping manager with Cummins RMEP/Consolidated Diesel Co.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.

She wore a gown embroidered in pearls and gemstones with a 4-foot chapel train.

Her headpiece was a pearl-cluster tiara and a one-tiered elbow-length veil accented in pearls.

Mary E. Speight was matron of honor, while LaQuetta A. Robinson was maid of honor.

Trudy Robinson, friend of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

Willie “Bill” Barnes was best man.

Groomsmen were Bobby Hyman, brother of the groom, and Marvin Thorne, brother-in-law of the groom.

Ushers were Leonza Sanders, friend of the bride; Jamahal Walker and Brandon Walker, cousins of the bride; and Marvin Earl Thorne, nephew of the groom.

Peyton Maryah Davis Calzo was flower girl. “C.J.” Christoper Artis was ringbearer.

Jessica Davis-Calzo directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Donjanelle Thomas and Shemeka May. Hostesses and ushers distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jamal Lewis, pianist; Anthony Artis, vocalist; and Chris Stevenson and Levaris Woodard, musical compositionists.

Following the ceremony, the groom hosted a reception at Wilson Country Club.

After their wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Wilson.

Events held before the wedding included two showers hosted by friends and women of the bride’s church and a bachelor party hosted by friends of the groom.

The groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Texas Steakhouse.
