Edwards - Massey
PRINCETON — Erica Jeanine Massey of Princeton and Joshua Smith Edwards exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 1 at 2:30 p.m. at Princeton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Stephen Wolfe officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Debbie Massey of Smithfield and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Massey and the late Betty Massey and Sue Tyner of Smithfield.
She graduated from Princeton High School in 2004 and Johnston Community College in 2008 with a degree in radiography and nuclear medicine technology. She is employed as a nuclear medicine technologist at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of Michael and Vicky Edwards of Princeton and the grandson of the late Earl and Evelyn Smith, Edna Smith of Princeton and the late Rhodes C. Smith.
He graduated from Princeton High School in 2003, Johnston Community College in 2006 with an associate degree in arts and Mount Olive College with a criminal justice degree. He is employed as a sales supervisor at Brooks Brothers of Smithfield.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white gown with a satin beaded corset with a cuff neckline and beaded tulle ballgown skirt.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of tangerine and fuchsia Gerber daisies adorned with white ostrich feathers and stems adorned with sheer tangerine ribbon and pearls.
Michael Smith was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jason Edwards, brother of the groom, and Todd Massey, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Matthew Haddock and Jordan Haddock, cousins of the groom.
Sarah Massey, sister of the bride, Alyssa Edwards, niece of the groom, and Lindsey Woodard, cousin of the bride, were flower girls.
Michelle Langdon, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was April Massey, sister-in-law of the bride. Mandi Smith and Linda Smith, cousins of the groom, distributed programs.
Bubble attendants were Tyler Beasley and Ryan Woodard, cousins of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Chris Langdon, cousin of the bride, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
After their wedding cruise to Key West, Grand Cayman and Jamaica, the couple will reside in Princeton.
Events before the wedding included a household shower March 20 hosted by the families of the couple; a bridal shower March 23 hosted by Connie Blythe, Kriss Teel and Sheri Styron; a Pampered Chef shower April 10 hosted by family and friends of the bride; and a cookout hosted by the Bryant Wellons family and the Anthony Brown family.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Princeton Baptist Church fellowship hall.
