Wemmering - Graham
Desiree Marie Wemmering and Matthew James Graham of Goldsboro exchanged their vows on the beach in a private double-ring ceremony May 16 at Wrightsville Beach with the Rev. Dave Fishman officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Tracy and Helen Wemmering of Goldsboro, and the granddaughter of Fred and Leyota Wemmering of Fayetteville and Same Warner of Florida.
She is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and attends Wayne Community College.
The groom is the son of Betty Jeans Capps of Goldsboro and Terry Graham of Grantham and, the grandson of Charlie and Katie Mitchell and the late Lonnie Capps of Goldsboro and Challie Graham and the late Edward James Graham of Grantham and the great-grandson of Evelyn Graham and the late James Graham of Newton Grove.
He is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College. He has been accepted by the U.S. Marine Corps and will be leaving for Parris Island, S.C.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white satin
A-line halter dress with pearl accents and a pearl headpiece.
Sarah Fishman of Mount Olive, a friend of the bride, was matron of honor.
Chris Cushion of Goldsboro, a friend of the groom, was best man.
A sand ceremony was held representing the joining of the couple’s love for each other through God’s guidance.
After the rehearsal on the beach, a dinner was held at Olive Garden in Wilmington.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Oceanic Restaurant in Wrightsville Beach.
After a wedding trip to Carolina Beach, the couple now resides in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a floating wedding shower at New Hope Church of God in Goldsboro hosted by Jean Capps, Katie Mitchell, Lydia Capps, Renee Capps, Bertha Woodard, Jean Jones, Karen Sellars and Patsy Newcomb.
