Dean - Ginn
Kathryn Ruth Ginn and Westley Smith Dean of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 27 at 3 p.m. at Madison Avenue Baptist Church, with Dr. Bob Fulkerson officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Lionel and Kay Ginn of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Von and Ruby Ginn of Goldsboro and the late Pete and Ruth Walston of Farmville.
She is a 2003 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2006 graduate of Wayne Community College with an Associates in Arts degree. She is attends East Carolina University for a teaching degree. She is employed as a teacher’s assistant at Eastern Wayne Elementary.
The groom is the son of Kris Dean of Dudley and Perrye Smith of Goldsboro and the grandson of B.E. Dean, the late Frances Dean and Norborne and Kathleen Smith of Goldsboro.
He is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and attends Wayne Community College for a welding technology degree. He is employed as a maintenance engineer at Franklin Baking Co.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a Charmeuse V-neck halter gown with ruched suplice bodice and beaded embroidered dropped waist. It had a godet chapel train adorned with beaded embroidered appliqué.
Her headpiece was an elbow-length one-tiered veil with a satin corded edge.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of calla lilies with yellow, green and orange tulips accented with baby eucalyptus and Italian Ruscus wrapped in white satin ribbon.
Jessica Gray Ficken was her friend’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Christina Harris, cousin of the bride, Amanda Anderson, Amanda Hill and Jessica Jones, friends of the bride.
Kris Dean was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Tripp Dail, brother of the groom; Brian Ginn, brother of the bride; and Matt Lovett and Michael Scott, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Dylan Ginn and Corey Ginn, cousins of the bride.
Tristain Hoyt, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Jasper Hill, friend of the groom, was ringbearer.
Lauren Tucker, friend of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Charles Ginn, uncle of the bride, and Debbie Kimbrell. Lindley Smith and Carter Smith, cousins of the groom, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Dave Periconi, organist, and Lauren Tucker, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
After their wedding trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the couple now resides in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower May 30 at Parkers in Greenville hosted by Carol Joyner and Joan Walston, aunts of the bride; a miscellaneous shower June 6 at the home of Debbie Kimbrell hosted by family and friends; a miscellaneous shower June 11 at Eastern Wayne Elementary hosted by second- and third-grade co-workers; a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 20 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by the bride’s mother; a spa day June 20 at the home of Jessica Gray Ficken hosted by the bridesmaids; and a lingerie shower June 23 at the home of Jessica Gray Ficken hosted by Mrs. Ficken and Tammy Cossano.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner June 26 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
