GARNER — April Nicole Mitchell and Ryan Everett Davis of Goldsboro exchanged vows in an outdoor garden double ring ceremony July 11 at 6 p.m. at The Hall And Gardens At Landmark, with the Rev. Gary Bailey officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Berry G. Mitchell of Goldsboro and Susan Talton Mintz of Goldsboro, the stepdaughter of U.S. “Steve” Mintz III, the granddaughter of the late Berry Mitchell and the late Smithie Hines Mitchell of Dudley, the late H.M. Donald Talton of Goldsboro and Faye Talton Kornegay of Surf City and the stepgranddaughter of J. Nelson Kornegay Sr. of Surf City.
She graduated from Rosewood High School in 2005 and Wayne Community College with an associate degree in arts. She attends Mount Olive College majoring in communications.
The groom is the son of Buddy Davis and Terry Stevens Davis of Goldsboro and the grandson of Gordan and Emily Little Davis of Eureka, Janet Britt Stevens and the late Sam Stevens of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2001 and Lenoir Community College with an associate degree in aviation management. He is an alumnus of Embry Riddle University. He is employed with Farmers Connection.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white silk pewter accented full A-line ballgown with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The gown featured regal embellished embroidery accented with Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads, glass beads and sequins. Embellishments ornamented the fitted one-piece corseted bodice and center front skirt panel. The caught-up cutaway skirt was decorated with motifs that also accented the caught-up skirt back adorned by the embellished trim on the cathedral train. The brides wore jewelry given to her by her grandmamma.
Her headpiece was a two-tiered veil decorated with miniature seed pearls and crystals accented with a tiara adorned with Swarovski crystals and pearls.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of white roses with inserts of aqua and green apple pearl pins in stephanotis with the collar and stems wrapped in matching ribbons. She also carried a handkerchief given to her by the groom’s mother, once worn by the groom as his baby bonnet.
Jessica Ramsey of Raleigh was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jessica Davis sister of the groom, and Jenna Barrow, Christin Grubb, Laura Alemdar and Ashley King of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.
Buddy Davis was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Brian Percise and Paul Lucas of Goldsboro, Cameron Grady of Morrisville and Nick Rose of Methuan, Mass., friends of the groom.
Elana Wilson was flower girl. Tanner Barrow was ringbearer.
Deborah Graham directed the wedding, assisted by Marcel Allen. Presiding at the register was Patricia Faulk. Courtney and Allison Smith distributed program fans and wedding bubbles.
A program of wedding music was provided by Chad Clark, pianist and vocalist, and Blair Mozingo, vocalist.
Retired Lt. Col. Steve Talton, Ann Talton, Parker Davis and Helen Davis greeted guests.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance reception in the grand salon ballroom at The Hall At Landmark.
After a wedding cruise to the southern Caribbean and a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, the couple resides in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a shower June 7 at Free Chapel Church hosted by Helen Davis and family; a pool-side gala and shower June 13 at the home of Rick, Karen and Casey Sutton hosted by the Suttons, Mrs. and Mrs. Buddy Davis and Mr. and Mrs. J. Nelson Kornegay; a lingerie shower June 27 in Kingston Place hosted by the bridesmaids; a bachelor and bachelorette party with a night out in Raleigh June 27 hosted by friends of the couple; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon July 10 at Pupetta’s during which time the bride chose to present gifts to her attendants.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner July 10 at Lone Star Steak House in Clayton. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
