Charli Michelle Britt and Kevin Alexander McMullen of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 7 at 3 p.m. at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Bailey officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Phil and Barbara Britt of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Ruby Britt and the late George E. Britt of Mount Olive and Garland Pike and the late Geraldine Pike of Pikeville.
She graduated from Southern Wayne High School and Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmaceutical sciences. She is employed as a quality control chemist at Sandoz in Wilson.
The groom is the son of Donald McMullen Jr. of Pikeville and the late Tammie Williams of Mount Olive, the stepson of Tim Williams of Mount Olive and Marie McMullen of Pikeville and the grandson of Donald and Mildred McMullen of Pikeville and Billy and Margaret Ann Talton of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College with a degree in business administration. He is employed as general manager at Talton and Sons.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white strapless organza gown with a sweetheart neckline and an embellishment of sequins and crystals on the bodice. The dropped waistline flowed into an A-line skirt with an organza overlay with a ruching effect accented at each pickup with an appliqué of sequins and crystals. The back of the gown had an array of matching beadwork down the middle and on the semi-cathedral-length train.
Her headpiece was a one-tiered veil attached to a silver tiara with crystal accents.
The bride carried a bouquet of pink and green calla lilies, orchids, roses and hydrangeas.
Heather Toler was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Rutledge, friend of the bride’ Amy Gandy, cousin of the bride; and Brittany McMullen, sister of the groom.
Autry Green was his cousin’s best man.
Groomsmen were Alan Brock, friend of the groom; Chad Britt, brother of the bride; and Travis Sparks and Austin Green, cousins of the groom.
Savannah Boyette, cousin of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid.
Kayla Egelston, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Christian and Nicholas Toler, nephews of the bride, were ringbearers.
Dawn Gardner directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Francie and Tristin Green.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Joyce Sauls and Dawn Traveny served the wedding cake and poured punch.
After a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple reside in Pikeville.
Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower May 3 at the home of the couple hosted by Heather Toler, sister of the bride; a bridal luncheon April 19 at Dudley Christian Church hosted by Joyce Sauls, Jennifer Rutledge, Jessie Sauls, Dawn Traveny and Pearl Langston; a shower April 13 at the home of Tim and Cindy Boyette hosted by Ms. Boyette, Penny Withrow and Margaret Ann Talton; and a a shower April 6 at the home of Kevin and Heather Toler hosted by Ms. Toler, Kay Grady, Rhonda McCoy, Linda Wilson and Tina Britt.
The groom’s grandparents and Marguerite Cox hosted a rehearsal dinner June 6 at the church fellowship hall.
