Peedin - Pate
Janet Leigh Pate and Stevie Moore Peedin of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 19 at 3 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Donald and Iris Pate of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late Alonza Pate, Hettie Pate and the late Elwood and Sally Underhill of Mount Olive.
She is a graduate of James Sprunt Community College. She is employed as director of nursing at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation of Mount Olive.
The groom is the son of Cornelia Peedin and the late Albert Peedin and the grandson of the late Daniel and Bessie Peedin of Princeton and the late Jim and Nancy Moore of Kenly.
He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is employed as an electrical engineer at Cooper Bussmann.
The bride was escorted by her brother, Don Pate, and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory gown of silk taffeta with a halter V-neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with pearls and crystals accented with a champagne ribbon sash. The A-line skirt was beaded with lace appliqués scattered throughout and cascaded into a semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a silver comb of rhinestones, crystals and pearls.
The bride carried a tied bouquet of purple and orange roses with yellow lilies.
Alyssa Herring was her mother’s maid of honor.
Danielle Peedin, daughter of the groom, was the bridesmaid.
Jason Peedin was his uncle’s best man.
Blake Herring, son of the bride, was the groomsman.
Ushers were Blake Herring, son of the groom, and Danny Peedin, Larry Peedin and Terry Peedin, brothers of the groom.
Nancy Underhill, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Dennis and Robin Pate-Edwards. Lynn Pate, sister of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Leigh Ann Underhill, cousin of the bride, pianist, and Dave Underhill, cousin of the bride, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church family life center. Larry and Susan Peedin, brother and sister-in-law of the groom, greeted guests. Debbie Pate, sister-in-law of the bride, and Darlene Peedin, sister-in-law of the groom, served the wedding cake. Nancy Peedin, sister-in-law of the groom, and Barbara Millard, friend of the bride, poured punch. Alonna Pate, niece of the bride, and Shelley Peedin, niece of the groom, distributed birdseed bags and bubbles.
After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower April 10 hosted by Jeanie Bland, Belinda Brewer and Wendy Weeks, co-workers of the bride; a pig picking April 4 at the home of Don and Debbie Pate hosted by the Pates, Dennis and Robin Pate-Edwards and Keith and Jannah Pate; and a party March 29 at the Steak Barn hosted by Larry and Susan Peedin, Danny and Nancy Peedin, Billy and Kim Goff and John and Donna Mercer.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the church family life center. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
