Walker - Renfrow
RALEIGH — Patricia Suzanne Renfrow and John Bowen “Bo” Walker exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 18 at 5 p.m. at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rick Clayton officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Renfrow of Pine Level and the granddaughter of the late Dr. D. Buren Oliver and Wilma Oliver Baker of Pine Level and Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Renfrow of Middlesex.
She is a 2000 graduate of North Johnston High School, a 2004 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a 2007 graduate of Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University with a juris doctor degree. She will be employed with Hedrick, Eatman, Gardner and Kincheloe of Raleigh.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dawes Walker Jr. of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late John Robert Moody and Mary Virginia Moody of Greenville, the late Mary John Moody, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dawes Walker Sr. and the late Gertrude Covington Walker of Raleigh.
He graduated from Wayne Country Day School in 1998, Wake Forest University in 2002 with a bachelor of science degree and Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 2006 with a juris doctor degree. He is employed as an attorney with Cranfill, Sumner and Hartzog of Raleigh.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a double-faced duchesse silk satin gown with a V-neck and a beaded empire waist that flowed into a fit-and-flair skirt. Bridal buttons cascaded down the chapel train and triple bustles were highlighted with matching beaded appliqués.
Her headpiece was a circular-cut cathedral-length veil of iridescent silk tulle.
The bride carried a bouquet of hand-tied white calla lilies, white roses and orchids.
Andrea Joy Bruton of Smithfield was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Caroline Denise Godwin of Pine Level, Julia Jean Harris of New York, N.Y., Caroline Britt Seals of Wilmington and Allison Ann Scarborough and Sarah Elizabeth Stuckey of Charlotte, friends of the bride; Meredith Ann Rutala of Chapel, cousin of the bride; and Mary Covington Walker of Goldsboro, sister of the groom.
Robert Dawes Walker Jr., father of the groom, and Robert Dawes Walker III of Goldsboro, brother of the groom, were best men.
Groomsmen were Chad Weldon Essick of Raleigh, Allen Forrester Hobbs of Arlington, Va., Henry Crane Howes Jr. of Charlotte, David Chase McKenzie of Baltimore, Md., and Earl Bryson Powell of Durham, friends of the groom, and William Michael Renfrow of Pine Level, brother of the bride.
Sophia Eliesse Gartland of Columbus, Ohio, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Robert James Ramseur III of Raleigh, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.
Mrs. Jerry Lachapelle of Raleigh directed the wedding. Patricia Gaye Renfrow and Jenna Lynn Renfrow, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.
Stephanie Lauren Rickman of Raleigh was Scripture reader.
A program of wedding music was provided by David Witt, organist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Hanover ballroom at Sheraton Hotel of Raleigh.
After a wedding trip to St. John, the couple reside in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included a luncheon Aug. 18 hosted by Terry Arthur, Merleon Creech and Lynn Gartland; a bridal luncheon Aug. 17 at Cafe Luna in Raleigh hosted by Donna Renfrow Rutala, aunt of the bride; a bridal shower April 15 in Pine Level hosted by friends and family of the bride; an engagement party Jan. 20 at the Blue Martini of Raleigh hosted by the wedding party; an engagement party Oct. 28 at the home of the bride’s parents; and an engagement party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nunn of Goldsboro hosted by friends of the groom’s parents.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Aug. 18 at Capital City Club of Raleigh.
