WILLMINGTON — Casey Lea Aiton of Cary and Jonathan Thomas Cape of Cary exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 29 at 3:30 p.m. at Landfall Country Club, with the Rev. Matt Blair officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Joseph Edmund Aiton Jr. and Phyllis Jean Aiton of Goldsboro and Danny Alford of Youngsville and the granddaughter of Joseph Edmund Aiton Sr. and Eunice Aiton of Greenwood, S.C., Frederick and Alice Pearl Adams of Mount Olive, Betty Rose Martin and the late Thomas Carroll Martin of Dudley and the Rev. and Mrs. F. G. Alford of Goldsboro.
She is a graduate of Wayne Christian School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. She is employed as a clinical research associate at PPD Inc. of Cary.
The groom is the son of James Thomas Cape of Maybleton, Ga., and Sharon Cape Parsons of Watkinsville, Ga., and the grandson of Jannette Cape, the late James Thomas Cape Sr., Betty Grip and the late John A. Grip.
He is a graduate of Oconee County High School and Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He is employed as a branch manager at Sun Trust Inc. of Cary.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white duchess silk satin strapless gown. The draped bodice was topped with a sweetheart neckline and a rum pink sash. It had a trumpet skirt and chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a fingertip-length ivory tulle veil with an ivory corded edge.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory roses, white calla lilies, green cymbidiums, pale pink bouvardia and green berries.
Susan Adams Alphin was her niece’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Amanda Cape Holliday, aunt of the groom; Kathryn Schanen Kissam and Jenna Ruth Martin, cousins of the bride; and Michelle Ramos Stamey, friend of the bride.
James Thomas Cape Jr. was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Joseph Kyle Aiton, brother of the bride; Vance Calvin Alphin Jr., uncle of the bride; and Timothy G. Clinkscales and Glynn Alan Harrison, friends of the groom.
Cassie Nicole Alphin and Kristin Alyse Alphin, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Vance Calvin Alphin III, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Lee-Ann Keen directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Debbie Annette Helderman.
A program of wedding music was provided by Nathan Lean, pianist, and Jimmy Lewis Martin, uncle of the bride, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, Joe and Phyllis Aiton held a reception at the country club. Richard and Christy Lanier and Giles and JoAnn Schanen, uncles and aunts of the bride, greeted guests.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple reside in Cary.
Events held before the wedding included a girls’ night out March 30 hosted by friends of the bride; a wedding shower March 10 at the home of Christy Lanier hosted by Ms. Lanier, Melissa Garten, Tracey Gregory, Tracy Smith, Anita Martin, Betty Martin and Debbie Helderman; and a bridesmaids’ breakfast at Bluewater of Wrightsville Beach hosted by Susan Alphin, Jenny Dexter and Kathryn Kissam.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Dye Club of Landfall.
