Jennette - Lupton
Sonya Renee Lupton of Goldsboro and Billy Ray Jennette Jr. said their wedding promises Saturday, June 17.
Pastor Andy Stovall officiated at the ceremony at Rosewood Church of God.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lupton of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Ernest and Athia Parrish, the late Evelyn VanHoy and E.V. Lupton of Goldsboro.
The groom is the son of Lucinda Jennette and the late Billy Ray Jennette Sr. of Dudley. He is the grandson of Ava Evans, the late Jasper James Evans, the late Dona Summerlin and Clifton Jennette Sr. of Dudley.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her brother, the bride wore a white satin A-line tank-style dress with satin-covered buttons in back to the waist. The bodice was decorated with iridescent crystal disks with flowers with pearl centers and seed pearl streams. The natural waistline skirt had a two-ribbon band with flowers matching the top insert at the bottom of the dress and bustled train.
For her headpiece, she chose a sequined flower veil with a corded edge.
Connor Lupton, niece of the bride, was maid of honor. Mackenzie Lupton, niece of the bride, was the bridesmaids.
Richard Jennette was his brother’s best man. Kenneth Lupton, brother of the bride, was the groomsman.
Anna Stover of Mount Olive, friend of the bride, was flower girl.
Mardi Lupton, sister-in-law of the bride, and Susan Kornegay, friend of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Miranda Rhodes, cousin of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by Alyssa Hill, friend of the bride, pianist, and Ron Sutton, friend of the bride, vocalist.
After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Lucama.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of Rosewood High School. She is employed as a scheduler at Goldsboro Neurolog-ical Surgery and as a secretary/nursing assistant with Wayne Memorial Hospital’s recovery room.
The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1994. He is employed as a production specialist at Bridgestone/Firestone of Wilson.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.
On June 2, Goldsboro Neurological Surgery held a shower.
The Evans family held a wedding shower May 13 at the home of Marie Joyner, aunt of the groom.
Central Baptist Church held a shower May 7.
The groom’s mother held a rehearsal dinner at the Steak Barn. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
