Rouse - Barwick
Laura Rachel Barwick and Dexter Alan Rouse pledged their wedding vows June 17 at 5 p.m.
Dr. Dennis Atwood officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Wilson, the bride’s grandparents.
The bride is the daughter of Esther Jo and Charles A. Davis of Mount Olive and James A. Barwick Jr. She is the granddaughter of Blanche and Joseph W. Wilson of Mount Olive, Maggie Barwick and the late James A. Barwick Sr.
The groom is the son of Scarlette and Gene Rouse of Seven Springs. He is the grandson of Pearl and Sidney Price of Seven Springs, Betsy Rouse of Seven Springs, and the late Buren Rouse of Seven Springs.
Presented in marriage by her family and escorted by her Papadaddy, the bride wore a formal gown of candlelight designed with a strapless neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with pearls and sequins finding a Basque waistline. The full Cinderella skirt was embroidered with silver threading and accented with pearls and crystals on the front of the gown.
For her headpiece, she chose a bandeau of freshwater pearls enhanced with crystal flowers.
Chancey Thompson of Dudley, friend of the bride and cousin of the groom, was matron of honor. Heather Beaman of Mount Olive, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Smith of Goldsboro and Hannah Guilliams of Mount Olive, cousins of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids were sisters of the groom, Chrystal Jones of Deep Run and Beth Kennedy of Seven Springs.
Gene Rouse of Seven Springs was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Aaron Barwick of Mount Olive, brother of the bride, Brett Henderson of Tampa, Fla., and Kyle Miller of Waynesville, friends of the groom.
Marian Kennedy of Seven Springs, niece of the groom, was the flower girl. Cage Jones of Deep Run, nephew of the groom, was the ringbearer.
Amy Smith, aunt of the bride, Becky Glover and Sue Beaman, friends of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Laura Shivar and Jimmy Person, cousins of the bride. Mindy Glover, friend of the bride, distributed programs. Mary and Jimmy Guilliams, aunt and uncle of the bride, chimed the hour.
A program of wedding music was provided by vocalist Kevin Gurley and guitarist Andy Daly.
After a seven-day Western Carribean cruise, the couple will reside in Mount Olive.
