Benton - Head
Stephanie Rene Head of Goldsboro and James Paul Benton said their wedding vows March 4 at 2:30 p.m.
Sherwood Godwin officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Beston United Methodist Church.
Parents of the bride are Tony R. and Cathy S. Head of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of Evelyn O. Stith, Betty U. Head and the late Rudolph Head of Pikeville and the late Billy D. Stith of Goldsboro.
J. Delvin and Paula G. Benton of Goldsboro are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of James and Pauline Godwin of Pikeville and Virginia Benton and the late Harold Benton of Goldsboro.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory drop-waisted full-length gown embellished with crystal beads and silk embroidery.
For her headpiece, she chose an ivory veil with a Spanish mantilla and beaded edging. She carried a bouquet of red silk roses.
Annette H. Aldridge was matron of honor. Michele Head, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristen M. Andrey and Kathleen Driscoll.
J. Delvin Benton was best man. Anthony W. Head was the usher. Groomsmen were Stephen E. Aldridge Sr. and Benjamin D. Smith.
Cassidy L. Sugg and Zoe Bronson were flower girls. Donald Sugg Jr. was ring bearer.
Annette H. Aldridge directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Stephanie Sugg. Anthony Head distributed programs.
Special helpers were Debbie Shepard, Sandra Head, Stephanie Sugg and Staci Smith.
A program of wedding music was provided by Stephen E. Aldridge II and Micah Hasty, vocalists, and Donald Sugg Sr.
The couple is residing in Smithfield.
The bride is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She is employed as a receptionist with Trafalgar Properties.
The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School. He is employed as a machinist with N.C. Manufacturing.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. A four-tiered wedding cake with roses was served.
Annette Aldridge and Sandra Head, aunts of the bride, and Debbie Shepard held a household shower at First Baptist Church of Pikeville.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Hamm’s Restaurant.
