MOUNT OLIVE — Regina Dawn Sutton and Brent Lee Grantham pledged their wedding promises Saturday, July 23, at 4 p.m.
Bob Goodman officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Covenant Fellowship Church.
Parents of the bride are Donald and Jill Sutton of Mount Olive. She is the granddaughter of Ivey and Annie Lois Sutton and the late Willie and Retha Bowden of Mount Olive.
The groom is the son of Garry and Darlene Grantham of Mount Olive. He is the grandson of Lee and Jewel Grantham of Goldsboro and Jasper and Nedje Brock of Mount Olive.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal wedding gown of white satin with an off-the-shoulder neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with re-embroidered Alencon lace, pearls and sequins and ended in a dropped waistline. The full skirt was beaded with insets of beaded lace and pearls and beaded at the hemline that cascaded into a cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of rhinestones that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion fashioned at the edge with rhinestones. She carried a clutch cluster bouquet of white and lavender roses and lavender hydrangeas with stephanotis and gardenia blossoms accented with sweetheart rosebuds and ivy tied with lavender ribbon streamers.
Kellie Davis of Goldsboro, sister of the groom, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennie Hill of Goldsboro and Becky Harper of LaGrange, cousins of the bride, and Lisa Goodman of Faison and Sommer Barrow of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.
Garry Grantham was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Craig Davis, brother-in-law of the groom; Jared Grantham and Greg Pippin, cousins of the groom; and Hobie Goodman, friend of the couple. Ushers were Chris Pippin and Jordan Knowles, cousins of the groom, and Brooks Rogers, friend of the groom.
Junior bridesmaids were Alexis Hill of Goldsboro and Katie Carter of Calypso, cousins of the bride; Bethany Knowles, cousin of the groom; and Nikki Goodman, friend of the couple.
Victoria Hill of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Addyson Harper of LaGrange, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Janet and Laura Jackson of Mount Olive directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kristi Britt of Mount Olive. Kayla Britt of Mount Olive and Taylor Rivenbark of Goldsboro distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jonathan Bowden of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, guitarist; Betty Grantham of Goldsboro, aunt of the groom, pianist; and Lauren Grantham and Jared Grantham of Goldsboro, cousins of the groom, and Mitchell Grantham of Goldsboro, uncle of the groom, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to the Outer Banks, the couple is residing in Mount Olive.
The bride is a graduate of North Duplin High School. She attends Wayne Community College. She is employed with Attorney John Edwards of Mount Olive.
The groom graduated from Wayne Community College. He is employed with Turkington APV Baker.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents and friends held a reception at Oak Ridge Community Building. A tribute was given for the bride’s brother, the late Daniel Sutton.
On July 22, the groom’s parent held a rehearsal dinner at Beautancus Community Building.
Co-workers of the groom held a lunch July 20 at Billie’s Restaurant.
On July 8, friends of the groom held a bachelor party in Wilmington and Topsail Island.
Friends of the bride held a bachelorette party July 8 in Raleigh.
Kellie Davis, sister of the groom; Nedje Brock, grandmother of the groom; and Dawn Knowles, cousin of the groom, held a bridesmaids’ brunch July 16 at the Davis home.
On June 18, Covenant Fellowship Church held a gift card shower and cookout at the home of Jay and Terry Kornegay in Dudley.
Lisa Goodman and Laura Jackson held a lingerie shower June 17 at Covenant Church fellowship hall.
On June 4, the bride’s mother; Annie Lois Sutton, grandmother of the bride; Marie Malpass; and Becky Harper held a bridal shower at Covenant Church fellowship hall.
Betty Grantham and Laura Grantham held a bridal shower May 21 at the home of Jewel Grantham.
