Wade-Thompson
Carmen Amanda Thompson of Goldsboro and Joseph Benjamin Wade exchanged vows March 13 at 6 p.m.
The Rev. Hunter Preston officiated at the double-ring ceremony at New Hope United Methodist Church.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. John Lavin Jr. of Goldsboro and Mr. and Mrs. Greg Thompson of Newport. She is the granddaughter of Aline Lavin and John Lavin Sr. of Goldsboro, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Cantu of Snow Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Thompson and the late Lora Cantu of Kinston.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Wade of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Betty Sutton , the late Benjamin Sutton and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wade of Goldsboro.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, the bride wore a candlelight gown of matte satin with a bateau neckline. The sleeveless bodice was embellished with beaded crystal and re-embroidered lace accented with an asymmetrical waistline. The back bodice featured a V-back. The A-line skirt was beaded with re-embroidered lace and crystal and cascaded into a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of rhinestones and pearls accented with a two-tiered veil of silk illusion attached to a comb adorned with pearls and crystal fashioned with a penciled edge. She carried a nosegay bouquet of red roses and white stephanotis accented in pearls.
Jami Lavin of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tamara Toner and Kari Davis of Goldsboro and Christy Thompson of Kinston, cousins of the bride.
Linwood Wade was his son’s best man. Ushers were Josh McCollum of Raleigh, Jeremy Gray of LaGrange and Shawn Cantu of Kinston, cousin of the bride.
Ashley Brooke Thompson of Kinston, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Nicholas toner of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Sharon Formy-Duval directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Lindsey Beamon, cousin of the groom. Tonia Harrison, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Hope Lockamy, organist, and Jill Suggs Howell, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Walt Disney World, Fla., the couple is residing in Goldsboro.
The bride is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. She attended Wayne Community College and Mount Olive College. She served in the Army Reserve as a mental health specialist in Kuwait. She is owner and operator of Audiocraft Specialties.
The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School. He is owner and operator of Audiocraft Specialties.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception and dance at Walnut Creek Country Club.
On March 12, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Nino’s Italian Grille.
Pat Bevell and Cindy Benton, aunts of the bride, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon March 6 at the Royal Tea Rooms.
On Feb. 29, Pat Bevell, aunt of the bride, and Tamara Toner, cousin of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower at the home of Aline Lavin, grandmother of the bride.
