Race-Grady
Kelly Lynn Grady of Cary and Damon Randolph Race of Raleigh exchanged promises April 17 at 5:30 p.m.
The Rev. Wayne Allman officiated at the double-ring ceremony at New Hope Friends Church.
The bride is the daughter of Bobby E. and Carolyn W. Grady of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Lucile Dawson and the late Benjamin A. Dawson of Goldsboro, the late L. Earl Williams and the late Mary H. Williams.
Parents of the groom are Dale M. Jr. and Annette S. Race of Arlington, Va. He is the grandson of Betty B. Race of Arlington and the late Dale M. Race Sr. of Arlington.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless white satin gown adorned with bugle beads and a matching train with designs of bugle beads along the back and hemline.
For her headpiece, she chose a single tiered elbow-length veil of silk illusion. She carried a clutch bouquet of tropicana, confetti and ravel roses of pink, yellow and orange.
Holly G. Hansen, sister of the bride, was matron of honor.
Abdel Sawan was his friend’s best man. Ushers were Matthew T. Heck, friend of the groom, and Mark K. Hansen, brother-in-law of the bride.
Dawn Gardner, friend of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Leslie Collins, friend of the bride. Kelli Brookshire and Jennifer Menge, friends of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Steve Letchworth, pianist and vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science in civil engineering. She is employed as an entitlement manager with Centex Homes, Raleigh division.
The groom graduated magna cum laude from George Mason University in 1996 with a bachelor of science degree in biology. He is employed as president of Medicor Pharmaceuticals.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.
On March 27, Kelli Brookshire, Kaye Ferree, Amy Gracely, Leslie Collins and Jennifer Menge held a brunch at the Gracely home.
Friends and family held a shower March 21 at New Hope Friends Church.
On March 3, co-workers of the bride held a shower.
R.D. and Glenda Stroud, Malcolm and Carol Price, Denny and Linda Sutton and David and D.A. Williams held an engagement party at New Hope Friends Church.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.
