Post 11 triumphs in Pate's debut

Wayne County Post 11 presented newly-minted head coach Adam Pate with his first win Monday evening.
Luke Frederick tossed a two-hit shutout for five innings as Post 11 claimed a 5-2 victory over Wake Forest Post 187 on the Goldsboro High diamond.
"We played well tonight," Pate said.
Frederick filed six strikeouts and two walks in his first-ever Senior Legion mound start.
Ryan Sullivan allowed two earned runs in middle relief. Lenoir Community College signee Aryc Chrisman collected the save with two innings of two-strikeout scoreless relief.
Post 11 led 2-0 after one inning.
Landon Ginn cranked out a lead-off double and moved into scoring position on Christian Yarbrough's twin-bagger. Ginn scored on Dilda's flyout to right field.
Yarbrough trotted home on Nolan Harrell's RBI single between shortstop and third base.
Conner Vernon plated Will Uzzell with an RBI double in the fourth and scored when Jack Casbarro hit into a 6-4-3 double play.
Vernon stole home for WC's fifth run.
Ginn emerged Post 11's top offensive performer with two hits. Yarbrough, Harrell, Tanner Capps, Uzzell, Vernon and Casbarro (RBI) provided one hit apiece.
Wayne County entertained Wallace Post 156 on Tuesday and plays host to perennial Area I West power Garner Post 232 on Thursday.
