SMITHFIELD -- Senior guard Chance Howard and Michael Reid scored 14 points apiece as Rosewood -- which claimed the Carolina 1A regular-season basketball crown a week ago -- cemented its status as the association's premier outfit this season by throttling Lakewood, 80-55, to win the league tournament title on Friday at Neuse Charter School.
Conner Vernon also performed ably for the Eagles, scoring 13 points.
Marquel Vaughn and Kolby Harris finished with 12 points apiece for RHS, which moved to 16-7 overall with the victory.
"Another great team effort," head coach Daniel Mitchell said of the affair, in which the Eagles made 10 three-pointers en route to the victory. "Guys really played unselfish."
Lakewood (7-16) was led by Cameron Sessoms, who finished with 14 points.
