GIRLS' SOCCER: Eastern Wayne blanks Southern Wayne

Eastern Wayne recorded a dominant 9-0 victory over county rival Southern Wayne on Tuesday evening.
Yessi Gutierrez started the game off with a goal thanks to an assist from Alana Kazar in the first six minutes. Brennan Dove smashed a 25-yard free kick 15 minutes later. Co-captain Claire Molloy slammed a shot from just outside the 18-yard box to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead. Dove, Kazar and Molloy each added a goal to end the half at 6-0. Martha Alyea and Kazar each added an assist.
Dove, Kazar and Molloy had goals in the second half. Guiterrez and Jakiya Baker-Hooker had assists.
Dove finished with three goals, Kazar had two goals and one assist, Alyea had two assists, and Molloy -- who leads the Eastern Carolina Conference 3-A portion with 26 goals -- had three goals and one assist. Gutierrez finished with one goal and two assists.
Delia Hardy, Marissa Babbitt, Amina Bercirovic, Kaela Coles, Colleen Christie, Cierra Hickman and Veronica Mackdad contributed defensively for the Warriors.
EW (13-6-1, 5-6 ECC) travels to CBA on Thursday.
