Middle schools
* Baseball: Norwayne 17, Spring Creek 0 -- Clay Matthews combined with four Norwayne teammates to throw a no-hitter. Drew Spencer led the Cobras' offense with two triples and four RBI. Brett Forbis and SJ Harris contributed two hits apiece. Austin Dilda, Dennis Daingerfield, Chase Hare, Hunter Robinson and Carson Gipson each provided one hit. Norwayne (5-0 overall) visits Dillard on Monday.
* Girls' soccer: Dillard 3, Eastern Wayne 0 -- Dyamond George scored two goals for the Tigers, while teammate Akiyah York tallied one goal. Shayla Greene dished out two assists. Marajia Miller and Jaiden Waters helped secure the shutout on defense. Dillard (5-0-1 overall) is the guest of Norwayne on Monday.
* Softball: Wayne Christian 17, Cape Fear Christian 6 (6 inn.) -- Brianna Verme posted nine strikeouts inside the circle, while teammates Hayli Verme, Abbe Harris and Lilly Britt combined for four punchouts during their respective outings on the mound Thursday afternoon. Britt belted an inside-the-park home run. Harris and Verme (Brianna) each rapped out a double. The Eagles (4-0 overall) visit Neuse Charter next Tuesday.
