BASEBALL: Rebels knock off Bulldogs

CALYPSO -- Chase Overpeck and Dylan Jones pounded out two hits apiece as North Duplin held off Princeton, 12-8, in a Carolina 1-A Conference game Thursday evening.
Blake Sapp and Anthony Jones delivered two hits apiece for the Bulldogs, while Alex Hickman recorded a double.
Colby Sullivan, Adam Crocker and Will Gurganious combined for a nine-hitter and eight strikeouts. Sullivan worked five innings, while Gurganious picked up the save during a one-inning relief appearance.
Jones worked six innings on the bump for ND. He allowed six runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks, and retired 11 Bulldogs on strikeouts. Brickhouse tossed one inning of one-strikeout relief.
