PIKEVILLE -- Logan Medlin swatted a home run and Charles B. Aycock, the reigning eastern 3-A regional champion, hammered out a 14-2 mercy-rule win over Hunt on Wednesday evening.
Medlin collected two RBI.
Taylor Puetz batted 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Mookie Powell added two hits, a triple and an RBI. Hannah Vinson ended the night 2-for-3 with a double and team-high four RBI.
Taylor Waddell hurled a complete-game three-hitter inside the circle. The right-hander fanned two Hunt batters and walked one.
The Golden Falcons (1-0 overall) travel to perennial 2-A power South Lenoir next Tuesday.
