Behind a 25-point, 16-rebound effort from junior Hunter West, South Lenoir cruised to a 58-32 victory over Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference foe Goldsboro on Friday night.
The Cougars never established any offensive rhythm in the matchup. In the first half, Goldsboro committed 11 turnovers and only mustered 14 points.
Meanwhile, the Blue Devils turned it over just three times in the first 16 minutes led 28-14 at halftime.
Goldsboro managed to cut South Lenoir's lead to 36-25 by the end of the third quarter. But that mini-Cougar run was met with a fourth-quarter explosion by the Blue Devils.
With the score sitting at 40-30, South Lenoir used a dominant 18-0 run to emphatically seal the victory. West accounted for eight points in that quarter.
The Blue Devils' Gracilia Jenkins added 14 points and six rebounds.
Goldsboro's Tziah Kelly -- the only Cougar in double figures -- pumped in 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. Destiny Lucas chipped in eight points and three rebounds.
Goldsboro (6-10 overall, 2-6 ECC) plays host to Ayden-Grifton on Tuesday.
