* Boys' basketball: Rosewood 36, Hobbton 24 -- Trent Lancaster paced the visiting Eagles' offense with 12 points. Logan Mitchell chipped in seven points. Rosewood (2-4 overall) travels to James Kenan on Thursday.
* Girls basketball: Southern Wayne 33, New Bern 14 -- La'Miya Pearsall dropped in a team-high 14 points for the Saints, who remained perfect in seven outings this season. Rizon Sutton scored 10 points. The Saints visit North Lenoir on Thursday.
Middle schools
* Boys' basketball: Grantham 44, Brogden 20 -- Mark Graham paced the Bulldogs' attack with 14 points. Tayvon Callahan knocked down 12 points. Terquavis Butler scored six points. De'untae Wright and Dejuanie Spencer tallied three points apiece. Grantham (2-0 overall) plays host to Norwayne on Thursday.
* Girls' basketball: Norwayne 34, Wayne School of Engineering 12 -- Katie Parrish pumped in a game-high 13 points for the Cobras. Kaitlyn Smith and Abbie Thomas supplied eight points and six points, respectively. Norwayne remained unbeaten in three outings this season.
* Boys' basketball: Grace Christian-Sanford 32, Wayne Christian 27 -- Statistics were not available from the game.
* Girls' basketball: Greenwood 27, Dillard 26 -- Aleesha Boyette torched the nets for 17 points during the T-Birds' win. Na'Tjah Jones added eight points. Diamond George scored 14 pints for Dillard.
* Boys' basketball: Greenwood 48, Dillard 44 -- Greenwood's Jakir Fowler led all scorers with 19 points. Teammeate Jayquan Curry scored 16. Aaron Scott paced Dillard with a 17-point effort. Greenwood (3-0 overall) visits Eastern Wayne on Thursday.
