Rams defeat Hawks in PK shootout

After Nic Kennedy tied the game up in the 99th minute, North Lenoir fell 4-3 to Eastern Carolina 2-A opponent Greene Central in a penalty-kick shootout Monday evening.
The Rams won the PK portion 4-2.
The Hawks scored twice in the first seven minutes, but gradually let the lead slip away to put the game in to extra time.
Greene Central found the net in the first 10 minutes of the extra session, before Kennedy scored his game-tying goal.
Chad Ginn and Marco Campos each had goals for the Hawks. Braxton Greene had an assist. Goalie Jacob Baird made nine stops and blocked the first PK.
North Lenoir (8-11-1 overall, 5-2 ECC) entertains South Lenoir on Wednesday.
