WCDS upends Oakwood Academy in tennis

Wayne Country Day swept the singles and doubles courts, and handed Oakwood Academy a 9-0, non-conference loss on Friday afternoon.
The Chargers earned their second straight shutout and fifth overall this season.
Gianna Democko, a former doubles state champion, lost just one game at No. 1 singles. Third-seeded Jennifer Potts posted a straight-set shutout. Sisters Taylor and Ally Willman, Eliza Eagles and Anna Allen combined to lose just eight games in singles action.
Potts-A. Willman, Eagles-Margaux Pope and Aimee Barnes-Allen swept the doubles.
Wayne Country Day (11-1 overall) is the guest of Trinity Academy of Raleigh on Tuesday.
