ECBL: Matthews flirts with perfect game, gets no-hitter

PIKEVILLE -- Chandler Matthews came within one walk of recording a perfect game and finished with a no-hitter during Charles B. Aycock White's 6-0 triumph over Eastern Carolina Baseball League foe East Duplin on Thursday evening.
CBA White won the first game, 14-0.
Kyle Davis and Ashton McGee paced the White offense with two hits apiece in the nightcap.
In the opener, Jacob Sanford delivered two hits and three RBI. Chandler Gentry and Cameron Kornegay each provided two hits. Braxton Leeper tallied one hit and two RBI.
Davis turned in a complete-game effort on the mound.
Weather permitting, C.B. Aycock White (12-2 overall) plays host to South Lenoir today. First pitch is 6 p.m. at Charles Davis Field.
