Saints cruise past Gators in softball

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Southern Wayne cruised to a 17-2 non-conference win on Thursday afternoon at Spring Creek.
Kelsey Hayes and Hope Rose both contributed four hits and four RBI for the Saints. Savannah Wiggins provided three hits and two RBI. Aubrey Sasser had two hits. Morgan Best picked up the win inside the pitcher's circle.
Rachel McCollum, Sydney Ocker, Sarah Ford and Brandy Anderson each collected a hit for the Gators.
Southern Wayne (4-3, 0-2 ECC) plays host to Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference foe Eastern Wayne today. Spring Creek begins Carolina 1-A Conference play on Tuesday at home against Princeton.
