Golden Falcons claim ECC softball opener

ERWIN -- Charles B. Aycock opened defense of its Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play with a 6-4 win over Triton on Thursday night.
Meredith Burroughs got the win in the pitcher's circle. Burroughs allowed six hits and struck out six batters.
Burroughs also led the Golden Falcons at the plate with two hits and one RBI. Keeley Fulghum, Madison Watson, Katie Gay and Taylor Bradshaw added two hits apiece.
C.B. Aycock (1-1 overall, 1-0 ECC) will host North Lenoir tonight.
