Aycock tennis team blitzes Cleveland, 9-0

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock posted shutouts on four of six singles courts and proceeded to dismantle Cleveland, 9-0, in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play.
Ashton Walker, Kimber Pender, Casie Belom and Cassidy Coerver each prevailed 6-0, 6-0. Second-seeded Katie Gurley won 6-3, 6-1, while third-seeded Rachel Jackson triumphed 6-0, 6-1.
Walker-Gurley, Jackson-Pender and Belom-Coerver completed the sweep in doubles.
The Golden Falcons (12-4 overall, 8-2 ECC) entertain Eastern Wayne today.
