Three days after suffering its first dual-team loss of the season, the Charles B. Aycock wrestling team turned in a dominating performance in the second Eastern Wayne Super Quad of the season Friday evening.

The Golden Falcons (14-1 overall) reeled off five wins, and beat county rivals Rosewood and Eastern Wayne for the second time this season. Aycock also emerged victorious against Eastern Carolina 3-A foe Triton, Western Harnett and Wilson Fike.

Rosewood finished 3-2.

The host Warriors logged a 2-3 worksheet.

"The key for us tonight was staying off our back," said Golden Falcons head coach Marc Peck, whose team has yielded just 55 pins in 15 dual-team matches and two individual tournaments this season.

"We only gave up six pins on the night against some tough competition. Our first seven weight classes posted 30 wins against only five defeats (one by pin). That was another key reason for our success tonight."

Khaleil Owens' 4-1 decision over senior William Wright helped Aycock pull away from Triton. It was Wright's third loss of the season.

Daniel Romo, Charlie Mills and Preston Tucker each recorded a quick pin and set the tempo in the Golden Falcons' 72-12 rout of the Warriors. Aycock has won every meeting in the series since 2001.

Mills and Tucker opened the match with back-to-back pins at 138 and 145 pounds in Aycock's 21-point triumph over Rosewood. Devin Best's pin over Wesley Morris at 170 pounds turned the tide against Western Harnett, and avenged a loss to the perennial 4-A powerhouse last season.

Aycock, which extended its win streak to six matches, easily polished off Fike with pins from 120 to 145 pounds -- a span of five bouts in a 66-14 thrashing of the Golden Demons.

Zack Howard and Daniel Romo concluded the day 5-0, while David Romo and Mills each posted a 4-0 mark.

Rosewood junior Nick Quillen improved to 23-0 this season. The 126-pounder drew one forfeit, pinned three opponents and secured a technical fall (15-point decision) over Eastern Wayne standout Warren Kirkwood.

Jordan Batson's 73-second pin of Pierre Wilson helped the Eagles (14-4 overall) defeat Triton on an eighth-level criteria, 40-39. Rosewood rolled over Wilson Fike and Eastern Wayne.

The Warriors topped Triton and Fike.

"(We) wrestled well short-handed," said Eastern Wayne head coach Jonathan Jones. "(We were) missing several starters (but) the team still managed two wins and were close with Western Harnett. Hopefully, we'll be back to full strength on Tuesday."

Eastern Wayne (8-7) and Aycock travel to Fike for the inaugural Wilson-Wayne Challenge. Matches begin at 5 p.m.
