Potential roadway problems and refreezing has caused the games scheduled for today at the Cougar Classic basketball tournament to be postponed according to Goldsboro High School Athletic Director Eric Reid.
Reid was not sure if the games would be made up. The contests scheduled for Wednesday are currently still on as scheduled.
Wednesday night will feature the Eastern Wayne girls' team versus James Kenan at 3:30 p.m. The Eastern Wayne boys' squad will play James Kenan at 5 p.m. Goldsboro's girls' team will battle Southern Wayne at 6:30 p.m. and the Goldsboro boys' squad will take on Southern Wayne at 8 p.m.
The classic was originally slated to take place Monday and Tuesday nights, but heavy snowfall across eastern North Carolina pushed the games back until Tuesday and Wednesday before the Tuesday night games were nixed.
