Jones, Prichard spark Trojans in OT

MOUNT OLIVE -- Jasmine Whitby led five players in double figures with a season-high 24 points, eight rebounds and five steals as Mount Olive claimed a 99-82 victory over Conference Carolinas rival Converse (S.C.) College on Tuesday evening.
Sydney Brown's two free throws pushed the game into the extra four-minute session, but Converse couldn't keep the momentum. Alisa Jones' layup and Tomeka Prichard's 3-pointer ignited a decisive 18-1 run and propeled the Trojans their fourth win without a loss this season.
Prichard finished with 20 points, four rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots and three steals. Jones added seven points, 12 rebounds, six blocks and four assists.
Shequanta McGee handed out a career-best 10 assists and picked the Valkyries for three steals.
Converse (0-2 CC) remained winless in six outings this season.
Mount Olive (2-0 CC) takes a few days off for exams and returns to action Dec. 13 at St. Augustine's. Tip-off is 2 p.m.
