WILSON -- Greene Central dropped an 8-1 decision at third-ranked Wilson Fike on Thursday.
Abby Sugg recorded the lone win for the Rams (3-2 overall) in singles play.
"We played much better (Thursday) against Wilson Fike than we did when we met them in Snow Hill last week," said Greene Central head coach Donald Clark. "I was very pleased with our competitive play in singles and doubles today, particularly in the second sets of the singles matches. Wilson Fike is very deserving of its number three state ranking in 3-A."
The Rams travel to North Pitt on Tuesday.
