Mudcats win second straight

Grant Psomas doubled and tripled, while Willie Glen pitched seven strong innings against his former team as the Carolina Mudcats defeated the Birmingham Barons 4-3 at Regions Park on Thursday night.
With their second straight win, the Mudcats remained four games behind streaking Tennessee, which won its fifth consecutive game on Thursday night to stay three games ahead of second-place Huntsville.
Rick Vanden Hurk (3-2) starts against Aaron Poreda (0-2) in the series' fourth game on Friday night at 8:05 PM ET.
