Kinston's rally from a four-run deficit came up short in an 8-7 loss to Carolina League rival Frederick at historic Grainger Stadium.
The Keys scored the game's first four runs before the K-Tribe's Beau Mills belted a two-run homer in the third inning. Mills added an RBI single later in the game as Kinston pulled within 8-6.
K-Tribe hurler Hector Rendon took the loss.
The teams continue their series today.
