MOC splits with Erskine

DUE WEST, S.C. -- Freshman Aubrey Reinhard belted a three-run homer and Morgan Whaley added a two-run homer as Mount Olive knocked off Erskine, 7-4, in game two of their Conference Carolinas doubleheader Monday afternoon.
The Trojans (21-18 overall) snapped a five-game losing streak and evened their league worksheet at 7-7. The Flying Fleet claimed the opener, 4-3, in 10 innings.
Reinhard, who starred at Rosewood, smacked her home run in the second inning to put Mount Olive ahead 4-2. Reinhard finished with four RBI.
Whaley mashed her homer in the third.
Erskine (22-15-1, 13-1 CC) pulled within 7-4 in the fourth. Trojan right-hander Jenny Jackson took over on the mound and held the Flying Fleet hitless the final three-plus innings. The former Western Carolina standout retired 10 of 11 batters she faced.
Mount Olive visit Barton for a doubleheader on Wednesday.
