Ayden-Grifton cruises past Spring Creek

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek got in an early hole and never recovered in its Carolina 1-A 64-7 loss to Ayden-Grifton on Friday.
The Chargers jumped out to a 26-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Spring Creek managed just 12 yards of total offense, including eight yards rushing on 19 carries. Quarterback Nick Hatem scored the Gator's lone touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Hatem's score was set up by Alex Dunmare's 75-yard kickoff return.
Dumare also had an 80-yard kickoff return, but that particular drive ended in an interception.
Anthony Green led the Gators defense with eight tackles. Jaelyn Lee made seven stops.
Spring Creek (0-8, 0-2) travels to Rosewood on Friday.
