No. 2-ranked James Kenan rolls on

WARSAW -- Brandon Satchell rushed for two touchdowns and Shawn Jones passed for two touchdowns as state-ranked James Kenan pounded Lakewood 45-0 at Bill Taylor Field.
It was the Class 1-A Super Six Conference opener for both teams.
Satchell, who rushed for 122 yards on 22 carries, posted touchdowns on runs of 1 and 2 yards. Jones completed five of six passes for 122 yards, including scoring strikes to Rudy Becton (22 yards) and Demetrius Vann (34).
Tony Jones returned a fumble 14 yards for a touchdown. Stedman Mathis and Akeem Carlton contributed scoring runs of 2 and 82 yards, respectively. The duo combined for 154 yards on the ground.
The Tigers owned a decisive 408-95 edge in total offensive yards.
Defensively, Derrick Barden paced James Kenan with six tackles and six assists. Josh Hicks recovered a fumble to go along with seven solo stops and six assists. Alex Monk contributed five tackles and six assists.
James Kenan recorded its third shutout of the season and collected its 17th consecutive regular-season win. The Tigers, ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press 1-A prep poll, have accumulated 30 or more points in six of seven outings this season.
Midway plays host to James Kenan next Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Walter J. Ragan Field in Spivey's Corner.
