Princeton wins track championship

Princeton's Jania Bogle emerged victorious in three individual events and helped the Bulldogs claim the 2007 Class 1-A Carolina Conference women's track and field championship crown Tuesday afternoon.
Bogle earned all-conference honors in the long jump, 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Princeton, which seized first place in seven events, piled up 169 points in the six-team meet contested at Rosewood High School.
C.C. Sanders complemented Bogle's effort with all-conference performances in the high jump and 100-meter hurdles. The Dawgs also won the 400-meter relay.
Ayden-Grifton, which captured two relays, accumulated 138 points. The host Eagles settled for third with 98 points, followed by North Johnston (87), North Duplin (28) and Spring Creek (25).
Rosewood's Erica Murray took the pole vault with a mark of 8 feet.
North Duplin distance runner Rocio Alvarado prevailed in the 3,200-meter run and ended up second in the 1,600 run.
