Kayla Sutton provided a double and two RBIs while Connor Jordan struck out seven to lead North Lenoir to the 7-3 win over host Rosewood on Monday night.
Timon Jones and Jordan both finished 2-for-4 at the plate for the Hawks.
Haile Meadows and Courtney Hill both had a hit for the Eagles.
North Lenoir improves to 12-5 overall while Rosewood drops to 7-10.
Both teams return to the field today when North Lenoir travels to Farmville Central for a Eastern Plains 2-A Conference matchup while Rosewood will host North Johnston today in Carolina 1-A Conference action.

KENLY -- Sasha Holeman found the back of the net twice to lead North Lenoir to a 3-1 victory over North Johnston on Monday evening.
Chela Crayton tallied the other goal for the Hawks who improved to 10-6 overall and will next visit Rosewood on Wednesday.

Greene Central
destroys North Pitt
SNOW HILL -- Greene Central swept all singles and doubles matches from North Pitt on Monday afternoon to win 9-0 in Eastern Plains Conference 2-A action.
Top seed Travis Moore defeated Cory Ward 6-2, 6-0 to lead the Rams.
Other Greene Central singles winner included Banks Nimmo, Trey Cash, Spencer Dail, James Kersey and Andrew Harrison.
"Today we played our best match of the season," said Greene Central coach Brad Sauls.
"We were solid in every match against a very good team. I was extremely pleased with our patience."
Greene Central improves to 12-5 (4-2 EPC) and next travels to North Pitt today.
Eastern Wayne
slips past Hunt
Eastern Wayne got singles wins by Drew Jackson, Ben Wines, David Benton and Eric Barnes to defeat Wilson Hunt 6-3 on Monday afternoon.
Jackson defeated Zack Thomas 6-0, 6-0 while Wines ousted Alex Baskerville 7-4, 7-6 (6-1).
The duos of Jared Stone/Jackson and Benton/Barnes picked up doubles wins for the Warriors.
Eastern Wayne next travels to Charles B. Aycock today for a Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference showdown.

Greene Central takes
six-team match
BETHEL -- Greene Central shot a combined score of 310 to be seven shots better than second place North Lenoir (317) and place first in a six-team Eastern Plains Conference match on Monday afternoon.
Tarboro finished third with a 340 followed by Farmville Central (346), North Pitt (379) and Goldsboro (421).
The improving Cougars were led by Obadiah Speight who shot a 90.
Goldsboro's next match will be on April 30 when they play at Tarboro.

Eastern Wayne
falls just short
GREENVILLE -- Thomas Jackson and Imran Rauf both continued their undefeated play in 2007, but it wasn't enough for Eastern Wayne as it fell 5-4 to River Birch Tennis Central on Monday afternoon.
In doubles action the duo of Timothy Parker/Jackson and Mikes Ames/Rauf recorded victories for the Warriors.
Middle Schools
Grantham softball 5, Greenwood 1 -- Madison Davis pitched a complete game one-hitter to lead Grantham to the win over Greenwood. Davis struck out seven in her seven innings of work and added a hit at the plate. Taylor Hood contributed a two-run single and Kayla Shaw had an RBI single for Grantham who improves to 8-2 (3-1) and next hosts Eastern Wayne on May 1.
Grantham baseball 16, Greenwood 1 -- Grantham pounded Greenwood on Monday afternoon led by the hitting of Jeremy Taylor who was 3-for-3 with a double. David Joyner, Taylor Brock and Will Broadwell all contributed two hits apiece for Grantham. On the mound, Broadwell pitched five innings while allowing one run on two hits while striking out 12. Grantham improves to 6-5 (3-1).
Dixie Youth Majors -- The Wayne County Falcons improved to 3-0 with a 4-2 win over Saulston in nine innings on Monday. The Falcons were led by Jared Rozzi, Hunter Dean and Brett Bartlett who all tallied two hits. Bartlett, Rozzi, and Tyler Rowe combined to strike out 18 Saulston batters on the mound. Saulston was led by Runyon, Huetter, Jones, Rouse, and Lane with one hit apiece.
