NEWTON GROVE -- Spring Creek shot just 6 of 24 from the foul line in falling to Hobbton 47-46, Monday night in non-conference action.
Josh Wright scored 15 points to lead the Gators while David Harris added 10.
The loss drops Spring Creek to 2-6 on the season while Hobbton improved to 4-1.

Tasha Whitfield's double-double led Spring Creek to a 50-41 victory over Hobbton, Monday evening in non-conference play.
Whitfield scored 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to pace the Gators. Melanique Deveaux added 13 points and Maura Phipps scored 10 for Spring Creek.
North Duplin
loses to Union
Union raced out to a 28-13 lead and coasted to a 61-31 victory over North Duplin.
Jodie Williamson scord 15 points and Katlyn Eloshway added seven for North Duplin.
The loss drops the Rebels to 0-3, who next plays at Lakewood tonight.

Goldsboro knocks
off Southern Wayne
DUDLEY -- Lawrence Holmes led four players in double figures with 18 points in Goldsboro High's 71-59, non-conference victory over county rival Southern Wayne.
Tyquan Sprangle added 13 for the Cougars, who improved to 3-4 overall. Demarcus Moye and Donald Lewis contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.
James Jones emerged the Saints' top scorer with 14 points. Richard Hill provided 12, while Javaris McMillan chipped in 11.
Goldsboro travels to Rocky Mount today.

Norwayne boys 59, Brogden 43 -- Shepherd Whitfield scored 19 points to lead three players in double-figures for victorious Norwayne.
Rodimirz Whitfield scored 17 and Tyler Lynch added 11 for Norwayne who improved to 4-2.
Mount Olive boys 42, Grantham 36 -- Carlos Council and Octaveous Oates both scored 12 points to lead Mount Olive to the victory over Grantham.
Justin Grady had 15 points for Grantham while Deondre Johnson added 10.
Breyon Johnson added 10 points for Mount Olive who improved to 4-2 (4-0) and next plays at Brogden on Wednesday.
Greenwood girls 19, Eastern Wayne 16 -- Greenwood improved to a perfect 5-0 on the season with their win over Eastern Wayne and next travel to face Norwayne on Wednesday.
Norwayne girls 36, Brogden 14 -- Courtnei Gilbert scored 11 points to lead Norwayne to the victory over Brogden.
Amari Howell added five points for Norwayne who will next take on Greenwood at home on Wednesday.
Dillard girls 41, Spring Creek 14 -- Tiffany Thompson tallied 11 points to lead Dillard to the win.
Dillard will next play host to Rosewood on Wednesday.
