Preps: Goldsboro JV boys avenge loss

Tyquan Sprangle led four Goldsboro High players in double figures with 20 points and the Cougars rolled past county rival Charles B. Aycock 85-55 on Friday afternoon.
Lawrence Holmes and Donald Lewis each collected 14 points for the Cougars, who improved to 2-3 overall. Iveon Sprangle added 11.
Kyle LaFlamme scored 12 points for the Golden Falcons, who defeated the Cougars by a basket on Wednesday afternoon in Pikeville.
Goldsboro entertains county rival Eastern Wayne on Tuesday, while C.B. Aycock plays host to Wilson Fike. Each game tips off at 4:30 p.m.

claims CCC win
SMITHFIELD -- Charlie Ipock led a balanced Wayne Christian offensive attack in the Eagles' 39-25 victory over Class 1-A Carolina Christian Conference foe Johnston Christian.
Charity Wright, Kayla Kennedy and Carly Hightower each provided eight points. Jennifer Price and Sterling Coggins chipped in four and two points, respectively.
Wayne Christian (4-2) returns to action Jan. 8 at Wake Christian.
