Preps roundup: Brannan leads Eagles to victory

SMITHFIELD -- Wayne Christian jumped out to a 36-20 halftime lead thanks to 13 points each from T.A. Brannan and Shae Glaesman and coasted to a 64-39 conference victory over Johnson Christian.
Brannan led the Eagles with 20 points while Glaesman added 13. Clark Rose came off the bench to score five for Wayne Christian, who improved to 4-4 (1-1).
"I thought my guys did a good job tonight," said Wayne Christian coach Tim Brannan. "It was nice to play a lot of players. Things went real good."
Wayne Christian returns to action on Tuesday evening when they play at Neuse Baptist.
A-G storms past Greene Central
LITTLEFIELD -- Ayden-Grifton raced out to a 26-4 first-quarter lead and won 74-52 over Greene Central in non-conference play Friday night.
Brandon Sutton scored 16 points to lead the Rams.
Greene Central (4-3) next plays host to Kinston on Friday.
Princeton
falls to Lakewood
SALEMBURG -- Princeton shot just 8 for 41 from the field and fell on the road to Lakewood 62-39 in non-conference action Friday evening.
Adam Northcutt scored nine points to lead the Bulldogs.
Princeton, now 5-3, next plays at Union on Tuesday.
Rosewood
gets win No. 1
DUNN -- Adrian Dhanraj scored 10 points to help lead Rosewood to a 54-45 victory against Midway on Friday night in non-conference play.
Rosewood improved to 1-3 with the win and next play host to James Kenan on Tuesday.
WCDS slips past North Johnston
Wayne Country Day welcomed back center Jeff Franklin, who played for the first time in three games, and defeated North Johnston 64-56 on Friday night in non-conference action.
Floranta Wynn had another strong game with 26 points and seven rebounds to lead the Chargers while A.J. Fowler added 16 points and Lamar Carpenter had 11.
WCDS improved to 4-4 and next plays on Tuesday at Trinity-Fayetteville.

beats WCDS
North Johnston knocked off Wayne Country Day 68-44 in non-conference play Friday evening.
Vaughan Eason had 14 points to lead WCDS while Brandon Davis added 10.
The Chargers fell to 3-3 and next play host to Oakwood on Monday.

downs St. Marys
The Chargers knocked off St. Marys 32-12 on Friday evening in non-conference play.
Jessica Lewis recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for WCDS. Mandy Reid added eight points and eight boards for the Chargers.
WCDS (2-3) next faces Oakwood on Monday.
Eastern Wayne wins
over North Lenoir
Danielle Daniel poured in 25 points to lead Eastern Wayne to a 57-53 victory over North Lenoir, Friday evening in non-conference action.
The Warriors improved to 4-3 with the victory and next host Goldsboro on Tuesday.
