Mount Olive placed three players on the 2006 All-Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference men's soccer team. Midfielder Chris Jasso was named to the second team, while defender Charles Williams and goalkeeper Chase Smith earned honorable mention.
Jasso, a senior from Winston-Salem, is a two-time All-CVAC selection. Jasso is tied for third in the CVAC with eight assists. Jasso scored the game-winning goal in the fourth minute of overtime in the Trojans' 1-0 victory at St. Andrews late in the season.
Williams, a senior from Richlands, is also a two-time All-CVAC honoree. Williams helped Mount Olive's defense limit 14 of 20 opponents to one goal or less, including eight shutouts. Williams was named CVAC Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in the 85th minute from 35 yards out in the Trojans' regular season-ending 1-0 victory over Erskine.
Smith, a redshirt junior from South Mills, ranked second in the CVAC with a 0.96 goals against average. Smith recorded three shutouts in the Trojans' final five matches of the season, including a 1-0 victory over No. 2 seed and defending conference champion Belmont Abbey in the first round of the CVAC Tournament.
Mount Olive posted a 12-8-0 record overall and finished seventh in the CVAC standings with a 5-5-0 mark. The Trojans reached the semifinal round of the CVAC Tournament and are ranked No. 7 in the NSCAA Southeast Region Poll.
