State-ranked Tigers stifle Wildcats

WARSAW -- Brandon Satchell rushed for three touchdowns and state-ranked James Kenan demolished Class 1-A Super Six foe Hobbton 36-0 before a Senior Night crowd at Bill Taylor Field.
The Tigers, ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press poll, improved to 9-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play. They travel to Union next Friday and conclude regular-season play Nov. 3 at county and archrival Wallace-Rose Hill.
Satchell rambled for two 1-yard touchdowns in the first quarter. He added a 25-yard romp in the second quarter and finished with a team-high 106 yards on 21 carries. Backfield mate Stedman Mathis rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown on just 11 carries.
Back-up quarterback Shawn Jones threw for 103 yards in his second straight start. Jamian Smith, Stamper Jones and Jason Kennion each caught one pass.
James Kenan piled up 418 yards of total offense.
Linebacker Alex Flores spearheaded the Tiger defense with five solo tackles and three assists. Kennion contributed five tackles. Darius Hand notched four tackles and one assist.
Akeem Faison had four tackles and three assists. Tony Jones and Duan Alston combined for five tackles, one assist, one deflected pass and one fumble recovery.
Hobbton (6-3) suffered its second defeat in three Super Six outings.
