Walnut Creek hosts tennis tournament

Walnut Creek Country Club recently held its first annual pro-am tennis tournament. Eight of the top tennis pros throughout North Carolina went up against Walnute Creek members in three different flights. The members were paired with three different pros and they played eight games with no-ad scoring. The two members with the most games at the end of three rounds played in the finals.
A pro/pro competition was also held. The eight pros battle each other for a cash prize. Lee Bailey (Goldsboro) and Troy Robinson (Kinston) defeated Will Keiser (Wilmington) and Brian Cannon (Greenville) in the finals.

3.0 Finalist: Julie Jackson
3.5+ Champion: Betty Yarboro
3.5+ Finalist: Pam Anderson
Men's Open Champion: Scott LaFevers
Men's Open Finalist: Bob Biggers
Pro/Pro Results:
1st place: Lee Bailey and Troy Robinson
2nd place: Will Keiser and Brian Cannon
3rd place: Josh Francischina and Kevin Coghill
4th place: Scott Curry and Taylor Vaughn
