GREENVILLE -- Pitt County's Jason Cargile had four hits and three RBI in Post 39's 13-3 win over Snow Hill in seven innings on Sunday.
Post 94 (9-8 overall) fell to 6-8 in Area I East Division play heading into tonight's game at home against Beaufort County.
Alex White, Mark Letchworth and Josh Ashton all had home runs for Pitt County, while Anthony Williams and Brandon Scott had multi-hit games. White picked up the win on the mound.
Blake Taylor and Brandon Brown had two hits each for Snow Hill with Brown delivering a solo home run in the first inning. Chip Wall got the loss for Post 94.
Aycock juniors
split over weekend
Aycock's junior legion team defeated West Craven 8-4 on Sunday, after suffering a 3-2 loss to Wilson on Saturday.
In Sunday's action, Bradley Taylor and Joseph Toler had two hits each with Taylor providing two doubles and scoring twice and Toler notching a triple and an RBI. Bryant Hill added two runs scored.
Daniel Stancil went four innings, yielding only two runs in picking up the win. Will Edgerton and Jay Rose had solid relief outings.
On Saturday, Taylor had two hits and a run scored, while Toler had an RBI. David Rose went the distance on the mound for Aycock, picking up the loss.
Aycock (7-8) travels to D.H. Conley today.
D.H. Conley blanks
Wayne County
D.H. Conley struck for two runs in the first, then one in the third and handed Wayne County a 3-0 defeat recently.
Post 11 (5-5 overall) dropped to 4-3 in division play as they face South Central today at Southern Wayne at 6 p.m. in completion of a suspended game. Wayne County leads the game 10-3 in the fourth inning. A seven-inning game between Wayne County and South Central will follow.
In the match-up with D.H. Conley, Michael Mintz had a double, while Alex Casey had one hit.
Anthony Brogden got the loss in just 1/3 of an inning of work with Taylor Allen giving up just one run in 52/3 innings of relief work.
D.H. Conley's Stephen Fagen struck out nine and went the distance in picking up the win.
