B.G. Darden Golf Classic
The seventh annual B.G. Darden Golf Classic is scheduled for Thursday at the Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course with an 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Format is four-man, captains choice. Cost is $300 for the morning session and $400 for the afternoon session with $100 hole sponsorships available. 13-14 Mount Olive Dixie Youth
The Mount Olive Parks and Recreation Department is now taking registration for Dixie Boys baseball for ages 13-14. Any boy that will be 14 or under on Aug. 1 is eligible to participate. Registration forms can be obtained at the Parks and Rec. office at 114 James Street during regular office hours. Teams will be formed in early May and play will start mid-May. Exchange Club Golf Tournament
The Goldsboro Exchange Club will hold its four-man superball tournament on May 19 at 1 p.m. at Southern Wayne Country Club. The entry fee is $50 per player (includes supper) and all teams must be pre-registered. For more information, contact Joe Creech at (919) 751-0287 or (919) 738-7743.
Gator volleyball camps
Spring Creek volleyball coach Deanna Morris is conducting a two-day mini-camp May 20-21 at the high school. The registration fee is $20. The first day runs from 6-9 p.m. and the second day runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. An individual skills camp is scheduled for June 27-30 and the registration fee is $50. The middle-school camp is from 1:30-5:30 p.m. and the high school camp is 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Coach Morris has also planned a team camp for middle schools and high schools. Bill Clingan basketball camp
Bill Clingan's Basketball Camp will be held June 27-30th at College Hall on the campus of Mount Olive College. Boys and girls ages 6-15 are invited to attend. The purpose of this camp is to provide a competitive learning environment for each camper to improve his/her skill level. Camp staff includes MOC basketball coaches, current/former college players, and high school coaches. Registration and prospective campers are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to guarantee enrollment. Cost is $140 with a $25 deposit required to reserve a space. This includes hot lunches at the Murphy Center, T-shirt, contests with prizes, guest speakers and a low camper-staff ratio. Bring a friend and receive a $10 discount. Mount Olive College volleyball camp
The Mount Olive College Volleyball Camp will be held on June 6-10 at College Hall on the campus of Mount Olive College. Boys and girls ages 11-18 are invited to attend. The purpose of this camp is to provide a skill, tactical development so that each camper will improve his/her skill. You may choose to attend this camp on a daily basis or stay overnight. Overnight campers will be charged $300 which includes instruction, 3 meals a day, t-shirt and insurance. Day campers will be charged $200 which includes 2 meals a day, t-shirt and insurance. Christmas in May golf tournament
The RHA Howell Care Center at Bear Creek will hold its annual "Christmas in May" golf tournament May 20 at the Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course. The entry fee is $75 per player with gold, silver and hole sponsorships available for commercial supporters. A buffet dinner will follow the tournament, and each player will be eligible to win prizes at the awards presentation. All proceeds benefit the client's Christmas Fund.
Neuse River soccer
The Neuse River Youth Soccer Association is interested in organizing female traveling soccer teams for the 2005 fall and 2006 spring seasons. The teams will be formed based on age level and number of interested players. Girls ages 9-17 are encouraged to attend tryouts and all skill levels are welcome. Church League softball

WCMA Amateur golf
The Wayne County Men's Amateur tournament committee has announced the dates for the 2005 WCMA Golf Championship. The first round is to be played at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Club on June 3 with the second round following on June 4 at Walnut Creek Country Club. The annual tournament concludes June 5 at Southern Wayne Country Club. The Junior Amateur is slated for June 1 at Lane Tree Golf Club. Applications for both events will be available at all local golf courses and First Tee Golf Store after April 4. This year, Andy's Cheesesteaks and Cheeseburgers and Coca-Cola will serve as the tournament's corporate sponsors. Grand Slam Baseball Camp at CBA
Charles B. Aycock High School will be hosting the Grand Slam Baseball Camp from June 6-9 from 9 a.m. until noon each day. The camp, which costs $65 per player or $50 each for families sending two or more players, is for ages 6-13. Cost of the camp includes T-shirt. Players must be registered by June 3. Mar Mac tournaments
Mar Mac Community Ball Park will hold a Major Tournament on May 14 and a Minor Tournament on June 3-5. Entry fees will be $175 per team. Jackie Robinson Baseball League
The Goldsboro Jackie Robinson Baseball League is looking for players ages 5-11 for its second season. The season starts June 4 and all games are played on Saturday. Registration is free and uniforms are provided by the league at no cost.
N.C. Wesleyan Soccer Camps

Lady Cougars Basketball Camp
The Lady Cougars coaching staff will be sponsoring a free basketball camp for the sxith consecutive year for girls ages 5-17 from June 6-10 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Applications can be picked up at Goldsboro High and are to be completed and turned in on the first day of camp. CBA Tennis Camp

Wayne Co. Legion Golf Tournament
The 3rd Annual Wayne County American Legion Baseball Alumni golf tournament is set for June 15 at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course. The format will be four-man super ball and entry fee is $40 per player. Tennis camps

Spring Creek Baseball Camps
The Spring Creek High School Summer Baseball Camps will be held in two sessions this summer for players ages 8-12. The first session is a hitting camp from June 7-9, while the second is a position player camp from June 14-16. Registration will be held the first day of each camp from 8:30 a.m.-9 a.m. Each camp will go from 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $50 per session and cost for both camps is $75. There is a sibling discount of 25 percent and bus transportation will be provided from the family to Spting Creek HS.
E. Wayne Baseball Camp
The Eastern Wayne High School Baseball Camp will be held June 20-25 for boys ages 7-14. The cost is $65 per player and $120 for two from the same family. The cost is $60 per player if there are three or more from the same summer or fall team. The camp will run from 9 a.m.-noon each day. E. Wayne basketball camp
The seventh annual Eastern Wayne basketball camp is scheduled for two sessions -- June 13-17 and June 20-24. The camp runs daily from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and is open to boys and girls ages 8-16. Registration is $50 and will begin on the first day of camp each week. However, space is limited. Goldsboro Builders/Clarence Rose Tourney
The 6th Annual Goldsboro Builders/Clarence Rose Junior Tournament is set for July 11-12 at the Walnut Creek Country Club. Age limits are 8-18 with 8-11 year-olds playing nine holes per day and 12-18 year-olds playing 18. Former PGA professional golfer Clarence Rose will be at the tourney and will work with the players before and after each days round. Players will be grouped together by skill levels. MOC Baseball Camp
The Mount Olive College Baseball Camp will be held in two sessions -- July 17-19 (ages 8-12) and July 20-22 (ages 13-18). Registration for the first session will be July 17 from noon-2 p.m. and registration for the second session will be July 20 from noon-2 p.m. However, early registration is encouraged. Both camps will finish with an all-star game and awards ceremony. The cost for day students is $175 and the cost for overnight campers is $200.
